Under the Weeping Willow
Its leaves dangle limp and pale
Remembering when rain awakened the day
And green leaves pointed to Heaven
Hot winds blow right through me
Broken clouds are thinning away
Blossoms too dry for the honey bees
And the sparrows have nothing to sing
Pale leaves start changing colors
The yard all crackled and brown
Wishing under the weeping willow
For rain to pour down on me!
I think I know how the willow tree feels
And why birds stopped singing their joy
Remembering when rain awakened the day
And green leaves pointed to Heaven
